i ] I ! i j ! ! j • . JUAREZ TROUBLE IS OYER RACING TO BE RESUMED AT THE MEXICAN COURSE THIS AFTERNOON. Postponed Program Is Declared Off and New Card Framed for Decision Today — No Further Interruption Anticipated. El Paso. Tex.. February ." . — Gen. Pascual Ovueeo having succeeded in his mission of persuading the entire mutinous Juarez garrison to leave the disturbed city and accompany him to Chihuahua, peace and order at last prevails in Juarez. The loyal troops entered ami took possession of the city, following th- departure of the malcontents. With the restoration of normal conditions, the street car service between this city and Juarez was resumed this morning, and horsemen were allowed to visit tin- race track without restriction. Racing was not re sussed today, however, owing to the fact that Monday is an off day. The entries scheduled for last Thursday were declared off and a new card made up for Tuesday, when the interrupted meeting will be resumed. A state of tranquility exists in Juarez and it is improbable there will he any further disturbance to cause another interruption of the meeting. It has been decided that the time lost in the schedule will be made up by racing on Mondays, which heretofore has been an iff day. A visit this morning to the course and city of Juarez found everything in a normal condition ami it may be said that the reports sent out regarding the damage done were greatly exaggerated. Early Wright has received a commission from Walter Donee, the well known stock broker, clubman and polo player to purchase a number of race horses which will be campaigned at Coesjr dAleue and ii. the northwest the coming summer. W. G. Yankes luck certainly stays with him. Had be delayed a little in shipping his stable to Charleston he would have been unable to get away for some time and woirhl have been put to considerable expense, as well a- trouble and annoyance. Books of conditions fir the races this week were issued early this morning. The five-year-old mare. Star Venus, by Star Shoot — Lillian Beatrice, owned by E. I.. Fitzgerald, is reported dead at Juarez a* tile result of blood poison ing following an accident in which she was crowded to the fence while running in a race.
