Fred Keene scored in Italy, Belgium and in France. He did not confine his success to tlat racing alone, scoring over the steeplechase and hurdle Courses as well. Sultan VII.. which was bred in France, was taken to Milan, Italy, by the young trainer and caJIstd off the Great International Steeplechase. Except in one instance till the horse-were ridden to victory by the diminutive apprentice rider. OLeary, whom Mr. Burch t.xik across with him from America. Trainer Burchs stable for this season will include the American trio. Martinez. Fred Keene and Gaunt-let. The rest of the string are French horses and consist of Rovono. Sultan VII.. Monseiguor. Giand Goosier and Vulcain V. Martinez and Gauntlet were both on the ailing li-t during the greater part of last season, preventing their -bowing at their best. Both have recovered and the young trainer has great expectations for their success this season.
