WINDSOR STAKE PROGRAM ANNOUNCED ANNOUNCEDDetroit Detroit Mich April 1 Eleven stakes to be m during the summer and autumn meetings of the jindsor tair Grounds and Driving Park Association have been announced by secretary Walter O Partner 4 he total amount In stakes and overnight purses to m tributFd by tho Windsor Association this year will approximate 00000 of which sum 15iOO is embraced in the eleven stakes All of these features are renewals of the successful events decided at the track across the river iu previous years with the exception of the D c Selling Stakes for thrceJ yearolds and over at a mile The Frontier Handicap will be a 3000 affair an Increase of 500 while the same increase will be noted in the uioney hung up for the 2000 Detroit Belle Isle and Windsor Ferry Handicap at one mil and a sixteenth The distance of the Frontier will be one mile t and an eighth as usual and the Pon chartrain will be a selling stake at threequarters of a mile The Edenwold at five furlonss the De ¬ troit five and onehalf furlongs and the Essex also at five and onehalf furlongs an for twoyear olds The Windsor is a selling affair at ono mile and an eighth and the St Glair Handicap Is for all ages over the six furlong route The Canadian Han ¬ dicap as usual is for threeyearolds foaled in the Dominion of Canada at one mile May I has been named as the closing date for these stakes The Walkervllle Steeplechase valuee 1000 is pro T YWed for the jumpers
