choices have scored This afternoons results showed all of the seven favorites bowled over In spite of threatening weather and an ordinary pro ¬ gram a large crowd turned out this afternoon and speculation probably was keener than on the open ¬ ing day A handicap at one mile and a sixteenth wliich was offered as the feature found Guy Fisher the top weight a handy winner Guy Fisher car ¬ ried US pounds came from behind after avoiding the early pace and won going away at the finish from the pacemaker Bell Horse The latter showed a line turn of speed for the first mile but weakened in the last sixteenth sixteenthInterference Interference and in some instances poor riding brought about the failure of the favorites In tho second race Paris Queen was caught in a jam while rounding the far turn and was sent to her knees The lilly was just about to make her bid when tho accident occurred When she recovered she went to tho outside and at the tinisli was running much faster than the winner FInbliergnst As it was shu just failed to get up and was beaten a neck To ¬ days race was the tirst that Paris Queen ran In the colors of J W Burttsehell and the latter promptly ran np Flabbergast from 900 to 1500 and secured the colt at that figure Old Coin whlcli finished third in the race was claimed by Sam Louis for 900 900The The defeat of the favorite Hamilton in the fifth nice was in a measure due to the poor ride that Butwcll gave the Schorr colt When the break came he was slow in getting away and on th backstretch the colt was pocketed and suffered In ¬ terference Entering the
