ST LOUIS RACING PROGRAM OUT St Louis Mo September Joseph A Murphy manager of the Universal Exposition has annouuceit the program for thoroughbred racing in connection with the revival of the St Louis Fair which is to take place here during the week of Septeml er In addition to the 000 St Louis Cup vhlch is M be the stellar feature of the meeting and whlclt will be run on Thursday September 20 the program provides for from three to four running races each day with purses ranging from 200 to 300 Tb rules of the Jockey Club will govern except where local usage supplants them The racing will be li charge of the following otlicials Presiding jude Joseph A Murphy associate judge G Lacy Craw ¬ ford starter William Snyder clerk of thu scales W II Boardman BoardmanThe The program book contains the following appeal to owners of thoroughbreds The Universal Expo ¬ sition Company requests that the prominent owners of the country see to it that sufficient horses aro here to till the races as per the enclosed program The purses are small but there are conditions which make this imperative at this time and we believe that we are entitled to your support We would lllco to have the colors of every prominent owner iu the country shewn at our grounds Nothing would do more to stimulate racing or tend to its revival In the State of Missouri than this The Universal Ex ¬ position Company will have a representative at the various tracks later on and we hope that every owner will send us at least one horse so that we can show his colors to our people
