HILtCREST MEETING OPENS Toronto Ont October 1 The second meeting of the Toronto Driving Club opened at Hillcrest Park this afternoon with a well filled card of eight races In which only two favorites were successful Fully 2500 were in attendance The weather was bright but chilly Michael Rice suddenly improving won the opening dash by three lengths after being backed from 7 to 1 to 3 to 1 1Igloo Igloo Leialoha and Louis des Cognets furnished the best finish of the afternoon in the fifth race passing the judges almost on even terms BurSLr ran away a mile after the running of the third race raceBlagg Blagg pulled up lame in the fifth fifthDipper Dipper ran unplaced In the coins of her new owner J w Hedrick in the seventh seventhJ J G Wagnon sold Cloak to J H Moody at private sale saleInlan Inlan which wan taken from William Walker by the selling process by B S Mich ell at Wood ¬ bine was shipped by his new owner to Louisville in charge of trainer J Walters
