Some Bad Racing Luck Laurel Md October 5 T C McDowells crack colt The Manager again showed his heels to Frog legs here this afternoon when be won the Baltimore Handicap 2500 added iu which he met some of the best horses in local training Tbe Manager was ridden by jockey Byrne made all of his own pace and won in rather handy fashion by a length from Lahore Froglegs was third another length back The pace was a fast one from the start with Tho Manager always holding command In the early rac ¬ ing Froglegs met with interference In rounding the first turu Teahan took him into a pocket and McTaggart and Butwell kept him there pretty much for the entire running At that it is doubtful if he could have beaten The Manager which in his present form looks to hold anything racing here safe at weight for age The fractional time of todays race was 2S 47 112 138 144 representing a new track record it was the second stake that the McDowell colt has won at this meeting his previous victory being iu the Inaugural Handicap in which he was in receipt of several pounds from Froglegs There was a difference of only two pounds between them this afternoon afternoonFive Five thousand persons were on hand to witness the sport Other conditions were in keeping with the weather which was perfect for racing Besides the Baltimore Handicap there was offered as an additional attraction another handicap at six
