PARI-MUTUEL BILL FOR TEXAS. Biccdcis of Lone Star State Backing Measure Tint Is About to Be Introduced in Legislature. BI Paso, Tex., January 11. There i- said to tie some chance for the repeal of the Texas anti-betting law and the enactment of a measure that will permit racing with the pari mutttels during the present biennial session of the Texas Legislature. Accord lag to the men prominent In the movement to revive racing in the Lone Star siate the time i- ripe toi the repeal of tl bnoxious law and the substitution of a measure patterned after the Kentucky law. by which racing will be conducted under the supervision "i a commission, with the pari-mutue system »i betting. The Texas Legislature convened January 2. and a bill to repeal the anti betting law will be present ed without delay. It i- declared that Governor Co! quit i- favorable to the racing Interests, and that he will sign any hill that will permit racing with the parl-mutuels.
