NOTES OF THE TURF The case of II D Brown vs The Jockey Club is to come up for hearing in the Federal court at New York tomorrow The possibility of a withdrawal of the suit has passed according to report reportCurly Curly Brown has hold of the wrong end of the stick in his lawsuit to prevent the extension outside of the State of New York of the Jockey Clubs con ¬ trol of racing He should have gone after the clubs that ask for and accept the Jockey Clubs sanction If they want to do business under any particular regulations and conditions it is not easy to see how Curly will prevent them but for finding a legal means to compel the Jockey Club to say No to applications for sanction that is out of the ques ¬ tion The principle involved that of voluntary ac ¬ ceptance of a generally recognized authority lias been settled long ago in both English and Canadian courts Toronto Globe
