PIMLICO HEEDS REDUCED TRACK CONDITIONS IMPROVE BUT MUCH SCRATCHING IS INDULGED IN Donald Macdonald Adds Another to His String of Firsts Jesuit Has Easy Timo of It in Winning the Steeplechase Baltimore Md May 10 Despite a big Improve ¬ ment in track conditions over Saturday scratches were numerous at Pimlico Ibis afternoon the fields in several of the events being materially reduced by withdrawals The Maryland Jockey Club offered three features as attractions the Green Spring Valley Steeplechase the Brewers Selling Handicap and the Maryland Club Purse Class was con ¬ spicuously absent but well balanced fields made amends In a way for the lack of quality Jesuit made a show of his opiKwition iu the steeplechase He sprinted into a long lead on the first turn of the field and at the finish Heider had him under a stout pull El Bart which finished second was half a dozen lengths away Napier awayNapier well handled by J Wilson was returned winiur of the Brewers Selling Stakes He re ¬ sponded with good courage after following the pace ¬ makers to the stretch turn and had something in reserve when My Fellow challenged challengedOld Old Donald Macdonald added another to his string of victories when he galloped home an easy winner In the Maryland Club Purse He was ndden by Butwell while Wilson the regular stable jockey had the mount on Judge Walser WalserThe The R T Wilson stable in charge of trainer Tom Healey was shipped to New York today and will bu campaigned at Belmont Park ParkW W L Oliver who has successfully raced the stable of Dr J S Tyree will in the future confine his operations to his own horses Sir Lay ton Ke wessa and Abbotsford which will be shipped to Bel ¬ mont Park shortly The Tyree horses will be han ¬ dled bv J J MeCalferty In the future futureA A consignment of horses left Sunday night foe Toronto which included those owned by H G Bed well W B Carson W R Mizell Mike Daly R G Martin and K J MeGraw MeGrawCapt Capt 1 M Walker will ship his horses to Bel ¬ mont Park on Thursday The J L Holland string Including the good twoyearolds Gnrl and Gordon will entrain for the same place on Wednesday WednesdayWork Work on a new grandstand will be started at the Woodbine track Toronto immediately after the close of the spring meeting The new stand will be built of concrete and steel steelThe The Washington Riding and Hunt Club will give a threedays meeting on May 22 24 and 2G at Ben nlng The program for the first day will be made up of seven races on the flat and over the hurdles with unusually large and wellbalanced fields K C Smith will act as presiding judge and F J Bryan as starter The Metropolitan Club Steeple ¬ chase is to be run on the opening day dayGuy Guy Fisher is being pointed for the Metropolitan Handicap to be run at Belmont Park and will be shipped there on Thursday
