MUD RUNNERS DAY AT ALAN ALANSpokane Spokane Wash May 19 The Alan track today was in a sloppy condition as a result of heavy rains that fell constantly all dav Sunday and up until noon today A simple accident In the first race happened to Stella Ward the favorite in the betting She stumbled slightly after the field had gono about a sixteenth of a mile and in so doing broke her ankle at the pastern joint There was no possible chance to save her for breeding purposes and she was immediately destroyed She was the property of Dr I E Clark a prominent breeder of Schulen Inirg Tex TexBlueBeard BlueBeard held at the liberal odds of 10 to 1 won the scynd race In handy fashion Prince Pllilsthujie was accorded the support of the public but ran disappointingly and was not prominent at any time Daddy Gip won the fourth race in easy fashion from fair opposition oppositionJockey Jockey J Cook was suspended by the judges for fifteen ridingThe days for rough riding The Ian lias been lifted from jockeys McDowell anil E McEwcn who were suspended for rough riding to the extent that they can riilo for their stable employers
