IMPROVEMENTS AT WINDSOR TRACK TRACKDetroit Detroit Mich June 28 Ouallette avenue iu Windsor lias been asphalted from the top of the ferry hill to the race track thus completing one of the best stretches of road to be found in any Canadian city This will be a boon to those patrons of the Windsor races who go to the track by motor or carriage For several years this road has been torn up at one portion or another during the racing period forcing motorists to turn oft into other thor ¬ oughfares more or less precarious to travel over But a fine boulevard is now available which will be greatly appreciated by those who drive to the track The Windsor street railroad management has arranged for improved car service and during the meeting next month the time occupied in reach Ing the grandstand from the big hotels in Detroit ferry trip included should not exceed twenty niiu niiuManv Manv improvements have been made about the track and grandstand Enough new seats have been Installed to permit of 5500 persons enjoying the races from the steel stand erected last year while the wide steps leading to the front row of the stand will care for many more Cement walks have been laid leading from the car entrance to the rear of the stands all of which are well protected from the elements In case of rain on any day during the meeting there will be no reason for getting wet after entering the car on the Windsor side sideThe The landscape gardener has been busy rearranging the clubhouse inclosure during the last few months Many new flower beds have been added to those already set out and the floral display at the present time is beautiful Society will be out in greater force for the approaching meeting than ever before Scores of clubhouse privileges have been asked for where one was sought In previous years Applications yearsApplications have been made to Secretary Walter 0 Parmer for stabling room for 450 horses showing there will be plenty of racing material to work with during the seven days meeting July 1G24
