PROMINENT FRENCH SIRE DIES M J de Bremonds promising sire Maximum which was standing at the famous Malidor Stud has recently died and curiously enough his death was announced at Longchamps just as the name of Vermet one of his progeny went up as the winner of the Prix des Acacias Maximums rac ¬ ing career as also at the stud was a brilliant one As a threeyearold he won the Prix Hocnuart the Prix Greffulhe and made a deadheat with Uetz in the Grand Prix de Paris As a fouryearold he won the Ascot Gold Cup and several important races on the English side of the channel He ran particularly well as a fiveyearold and even six yearold He is sire of Laghet Secours Mont ISoran Oria Princesse des Ursins Dolce Infortune Traqueuard Arson LArgeutiere III and Amadou a very promising threeyearold as well as of Opott Ultimatum Urbino etc
