PLANS FOR CHICAGO RACING BUSINESS MEN COME TO FRONT IN CONNEC ¬ TION WITH NEW VENTURE Propose to Hold Meeting of Thirteen Days Dura ¬ tion Beginning August 9 at Some Chicago Track Yet to Be Decided Upon It is definitely decided that Chicago is to have 1 race meeting of thirteen days beginning Saturday August 9 It will be under the auspices of the Saddle and Sulky Club and will present tin novelty of being a meeting conducted by Chicago business men ot good repute who heretofore have bid nothing to do with racing It is their pur ¬ pose in the present venture to ascertain by ex ¬ periment the attitude of the Chicago sport loving public in regard to cleanly conducted racing as an open uir diversion without betting Experienced olliclals will b secured to control the racing itself and as u beginning KIchard Dwyer has been en ¬ gaged to do th starting Outside of these neces ¬ sary otlicials the Saddle and Sulky Club will con ¬ trol details detailsThe The racing will l e at either Harlem Worth or Hawthorne but at which of the three tracks is not yet settled As soon as the matter is decided whleli will be within a few days information is lo the track secured will be made public As there is no question in regard to tho solvency of Ilic promntors of the coining meeting it is hoped that owners of good horses will deem the re ¬ opening of racing at Chicago a matter of sulliclent iniiLlim to tall for their active cooperatiou von if the money offered to be raced for is by no means np to the Chicago standard of the past Better things will come if the meeting proves a success
