RECORD OF A BUSY BEN STROME MARE. Reports from the Pacfiic coast bring news of the death of Belle of Iroquois, nine-year-old hav mare by Ben Strome Passion Flower. She was" so badly cut down in a race at Victoria, B. C. last week that her destruction became necessary. Belle of Iroquois raced as a two-year-old in 190O with some distinction on the New York tracks in the colors of the Patchogue Stable ami. while still a young mare, was taken to California, where she passed into the lossession of Matt Reis of Seattle. Afterwards she raced for several seasons in the colors of C. Lewis, a Britisli Columbian, and she was the property of Jeanette and Riley at the time of her death. Her racing in recent years has been confined to the tracks of the far northwest. She had a busy career and won in each of her eight seasons in training, as shown In the following tabulation of her racing record: Belle of Iroquois, b. m. 1904, by Ben Strome Passion Flower. Year.
