SPEARHEAD took a quick lead and, setting a fast pace from the start, saved ground all the way and was drawing clear at the end. MONMOUTH ran a good race, was on the outside of the winner for the entire race and made a wide turn when entering tile homestretch. FATHOM ran forwardly. but was tiring at the finish. PETELUS was pulled up at tlie start and made up ground, but had no chance. JOHN P. NIXON closed a gap and finished close up. GOLDY and SILENT PILOT ran well. Scratched 11953 Votes. 115; 120SO J. J. HOMECREST ran well, but also tired and just lasted long enough to outstay LITTLE JUPITER. The latter came fast through the homestretch after going wide, hut pulled up lame. The latter carried his weight well and finished fast and gamely. ADDIE M. was crowded back at the start and closed a big gap into a hist going third. ROAMER stumbled and almost fell at the start. YELLOW EYES was a forward contender from the start and outgamed SEPULVEDA in the final drive. SEPULVEDA cut across to the Inside while rounding the first turn and was nished into a long lead, but tired in the last quarter.
