STALLIONS EOR ELMENDORF J. B. IfAGGIN SHOWS HIS INTENTION OFCON-TINUING BREEDING OF THOROUGHBREDS. Buys Ballot Privately from John E. Madden and Purchases Sain at Auction Kentucky Sale Is Concluded with Good Results. Lexington, Ky.. November 12. James B. Haggin today bought two thoroughbred stallions for UU Eimendorf Farm, where he has about seventy good mares remaining of the stud that was at one time thel most extensive in this country. From John E. Madden be purchased privately the nine-year-old chestnut horse, Ballot, by Voter Cerito. by Lowland Chief, and this remarkably good race horse, which Mr. Maddeu bought last winter from James R. Keene, was transferred at about noon today from Hamburg Place to Eimendorf. The negotiations were conducted by Charles II. Berrymau, for Mr. Haggin. The price was not made known, but it has been variously reported to have been from 5,000 to 0,000. The other stallion is Sain. This nineteen-year-old son of St. Serf and The Task was bought out of Barney Schrelbers consignment to the Kentucky Sales Companys auction this morning by Thomas C. McDowell, acting for Mr. Haggin. for ,000. Col. Milton Young and John D. Carr were the contending bidders. Sain, notwithstanding his age, is generally considered a bargain at ,000. Jack Atkin was not sold. Mr. Schreiber having placed a reserve of 2,000 on him and there was no advance over this sum. Neither was Plaudit sold, John E. Madden having placed a reserve of 0,000 on him. It is said that Johnson N. Camden is negotiating for Plaudit. The Kentucky Sales Company concluded Its auction today with the disposal of 95 head for 7,510. an average of a fraction less than 00.
