FORMER JOCKEY CLAYTON IN THE WEST. Cincinnati. 0., November 12. The friends of former jockey Lonnie Clayton, who rode for the Fleischmann and other leading owners some fifteen vears ago, will be interested to hear that he may return to the saddle. Claytons whereabouts were unknown by many of his friends until some negro impersonating him was arrested in New York recently for stealing gowns from a fashionable dressmaker. One of Claytons acquaintances, knowing of bis whereabouts, wired him about the imposter, and Clayton has notified the police that the fellow is a fake. Clayton is at present Hviug in Vancouver, B. C, where he has resided for twelve years. In a letter from Clayton received here yes-tordav, he says he has a chance to accent an engagement abroad and will probably join the American riding colony in France or Germany. Clayton was a star in the days of "Soup" Perkins, Tiny Williams and other noted dark-skinned riders.
