: ; : ; WINNINGS OF THE R. J. MACKENZIE STABLE FOR 1913 : With such a good horse as Buckhorn one of its members, the R. J. Mackenzie stable of 1013 hardly rehieved the measure of success anticipated for it and in all did not win as much money as it did in 1012. when Its total was 7,508". Still in view of mischances that militated against the stable, it did fairly well. It was the selling plater. Melton Street, quite a good horse when fit. that proved It best money winner, with Buckhorn second and the fast sprinter, Helen Barbee. third. Buckhorn, although a capital racer, was, as a rule, overestimated by the handicappers and assigned imposts he could not carry successfully against such good class opposition as he was usually called on to meet. The record of the stable for the year was: Horse. Col. and Sex. A. Pedigree. " 1st. 2d. 3d. Won.
