EASTERN STABLES IN WINTER QUARTERS. New York, November 21. A. L. Aste has sent his useful racing string into winter quarters at tlie Sheepshead Bay course of the Coney Island Jockey Club. Tlie horses have arrived from Maryland and are comfortably quartered for tlie cold months. In the lot are Ten Point, probably the best of the get of Jack Point; Goldy. a useful sort that won during the Laurel meeting; Phyllis Antoinette and tlie two-year-old Helen M. All of the horses made the trip from Piuilico without mishap and have gone into temporary retirement in the best of condition. With the Aste horses there came the string raced successfully by F. Mauuix. Easily the liest of the Manuix lot is the two-year-old Superintendent, winner of the Walilcn Stakes at Pimlico, from some of the liest youngsters that could be sent against him. Applauder and Sleuth are others in the Mannix string. The last-named was purchased during the season from tlie Oneck Stable. During the season that has just closed Superintendent did not have much opportunity in stakes. No such mistake will lie made in 1911, and he will I? named for all the worth while three-year-old fixtures. During the winter months tlie Mannix horses will lie jogged along lightly and permitted to grow big and strong. They will 1k taken up early in the spring and. barring accident, will be fit and ready for whatever is offered about New York early in the season.
