HAREBELL went to the front with a rush when straightened out on the backstretch and gamely held his advantage to the end. LOUISE TRAVERS ran a good race and was on the inside for the entire way. SUWANNEE closed a gap early into forward contention, but turned wide when entering- the homestretch and llnally tired. PERTH ROCK ran well. Tiie others were outpaced. SURPASS began fast and was raced into a long lead while rounding the far turn, but tired badly in the last eighth and just lasted long enough to win. FORD MAI closed a gap and. finishing fast, would have beaten the winner in another stride. CAPTAIN JINKS was an easy third after working his way up on the outside. The latter was :i forward contender from the start, but tired in the final drive. TOM HOLLAND gained steadily from a slow beginning and finished with a rush. DOUBLE FIVR set a fast pace from the start, but tired lu the stretch drive. VOTES only ran fairly well. LINBKOOK outran his opponents to the lirst turn and, setting a good pace, was rated along in front for the remaiuder of the way and won easing up. ALTAMAHA moved up on the backstretch, lint was unable to get to the front and his weight told on liim in the last quarter. JIM CAFFRBY ran unexpeetedly vcll. but tired badly in the homestretch. THRIFTY began from the outside and. being iuuch used in an attempt to get to the leader, was tiring at the end. JOHN MARRS raced well, but tired and just bisted long enough to outstay BILLIE HIBBS. The latter closed a gap and finished gamely. BLACK CHIEF quit after racing well to the stretch. OUTLAN moved up with a threatening challenge while rounding the far turn and finished gamely, but could not get up. BIG DIPPER was much used in making the early pace and quit when challenged. GUIDE POST also quit after going a good half mile. LETOURNO ran well to the homestretch. Scratched 12538 Mr. Specs. 10S. Overweights Guide Post, 1 pound.
