MORE STAKES ARE OPENED WESTCHESTER RACING ASSOCIATION MAKES AN ANNOUNCEMENT OF IMPORTANCE. Makes Public the Conditions of Eleven Closed Events i to Be Run at Belmont Park Next Spring-, New York, December 5. Horsemen had further cause for rejoicing over the prospect for next seasons racing on the New York tracks "when Secretary H. I. Pplz of the Westchester Racing Association announced today the opening of eleven stakes, ranging In value from 00 added to ,500 added, to be run during next springs meeting at Belmont Park. These stakes are to have their closing on January 5 next, and with the Owners KUnd stakes recently closed and the Saratoga Association events closed some time previously, will make a brave showing even should the other racing associations fail to offer anything In the way of stakes for next season. It may be said iu passing, however, that other offerings are expected later on. The list of events just opened by the Westchester Racing Association is made up as follows: Belmont Stakes For three-year-olds. By subscription of 5 each. Starters to pay 0 additional. The association to add ,500, of which 00 to the second and UO to the third. Mr. August Belmont will add plate to the value of 50, which will be awarded the winner. One mile and three furlonsrs. MetroiRilitan Handicap For three-year-olds and upward. By subscription of 5 each. Starters to pay 0 additional. The association to add ,500 and plate of the value of 00. The winner to receive ,900 of the added money and the plate; the second 00, and the third 00. Weights to he announced five days before the race. AVinuers after the announcement of the weights to carry live pounds extra. One mile. Keene Memorial Stakes For two-year-olds. By subscription of 5 each. Starters to pay 0 additional. The atsociation to add ,000 and plate of the value of 00. The winner to receive ,500 of the added money and the plate; the second 00, and the third 00. Weights, ten pounds below the scale. The winner of a race of the value of ,050 to carry four pounds extra; of two such races seven pounds extra; .of three such races ten pounds extra.
