" " RECORD OF A SMALL BUT SELECT EASTERN -STABLE . i Capt. E. B. Cassatt is a man of great wealth who annually races a limited number of horses of his own breeding and probably achieves as great a measure of success as he cares to. His father before him raced n a more extensive scale .and in his time owned some great racers, that grand horse, The Bard, being one of them and being a tip topper In every respect. In his fleet filly, Flying Fairy, Capt. Cassatt owns a three-year-old challenging comparison, with Gowell or any of the other best fillies of 1913, one that could not only run fast, but stay gallantly as well. Spring Board is another that raced well for him and Is a rough and ready customer, always to be depended upon to give a good account of himself at sprinting distances against any quality of opposition. His two-yar-olds. Humiliation and Spearhead, while not able to race successfully against the best of their age, yet ran well and are promising young horses. His creditable stable showing for 1913 was: Horse. Col. and Sex. A. Pedigree. 1st. 2d. 3d. Won.
