NOTES OF THE TURF. II. D. Brown is in California at present. Jack Atkin has sold his interest in the .Sacramento baseball club and probably will again turn his attention to racing. Former jockeys Eddie Lynch and George Bulhnan are now in the employ of the Pacific Telephone Company at San Francisco. W. B. Jennings, II. T. Griflin. Lester Relit and Dr. II. K. Rowell, who were prominent in California turf circles when racing flourished on the Pacific coast, are now devoting their attention to real estate investments in the neighlwrhood of San Francisco, according to advices from the far west. J. R. Fells well-known American steeplechaser, Highbridge, which fell at the first fence in this years Grand National, has left Germany on his way back to England in cliurge of his trainer, J. K. Frayliug, to take part in the winter campaign. The German expedition was unsuccessful, the nearest Highbridge went to winning being at Bremen, where lie finished second in a steeplechase last July.
