1 STRENUOUS THE ONECK STABLES BEST MONEY-WINNER ; : It cannot lie correctly said that the Oneck Stable fared badly in the racing of this year, but it undoubtedly contained one young horse from winch much was expected that was not realized. This disappointment was Yankee Notions. He proved a speedy and game three-year-old, but not capable of coping successfully with the best of his age, such as Ten Point, Rock View, Cock o the Walk and Horron, for instance. Sprite, despite the retention of the great speed of her three-year-old form, was somewhat unlucky in securing a high place in the esteem of the otiicial handicapper and therefore was weighted beyond her capacity in events she might have won if more leniently treated. Under such circumstances the two best horses in the stable did not win the most money, that distinction falling to the less highly esteemed colt. Strenuous, mainly because the latter was lucky enough to win the Southampton Handicap at Belmont Park through the disqualification of Flying Fairy. The stable record for the year is: Horse.
