BELMONT PARK STAKES TO CLOSE. To close for entries at midnight of January 5, 1014, the Westchester Racing Association proffers a list of ten stake races that should receive hearty support from owners, east and west. They will constitute a part of the attractions provided for racing at the Belmont Park meeting of next year and are judiciously apportioned among the different ages that make up successful raclug programs. Nearly all are events of extended history and, while the values are not up to those of former days, they are sutticient to appear extremely enticing to owners of the present time. The events are: Tor Three-Year-Olds and Over. Name of Stakes. Dist. Metropolitan Handicap. 2.500 added 1 Toboggan Handicap, 1,500 added .-4 Ladles Handicap, mares. ,500 added 1 Harlem Selling Stakes, ,000 guaranteed 1 For Three-Year-Olds. Keene Memorial Stakes, ,000 added .1-4 Juvenile Stakes, ,500 added 5-S Fashion Stakes, fillies. ,500 added 5-8 Bouquet Selling Stakes, ,000 guaranteed 5-S No doubt this list will be supplemented presently by further announcement of other races to close, including such time-honored events as the Brooklyn and Suburban Handicaps. In the meantime owners will find it to their advantage to promptly make their nominations to the events now offered.
