BUXTON TO BE 1913 LEADER AMONG JOCKEYS. The racing of the past week cleared up the uncertainty which had been existing as to who would carry off the American saddle honors of 1013. For weeks it had been nip and tuck between Hurllngame and Ruxton for the premiership. One week ago Hurlingame was in the lead by" the narrow margin of one winning mount. During the week Hurlingame was the victim of an accident which will prevent him from riding during the rest of this year at least and at the same time Huxton exhibited much improved form in tho saddle. He piloted eight winners at Charleston last week and it is now certain that the years honors will be his. Several riders have better percentages, but none will closely approacli him in number of winning mounts, except Hurlingame. Groth will doubtless finish the year In third place.
