CALETHUMPIAN closed a gap early and made a fast finish. LABOLD raced into the lead on the last turn, but tired in the stretch drive. SENATOR JAMES and MAUD McKEE ran fairly well. JANUS closed a gap and finished with a rush. ROSEMARY was pinched out at the paddock when racing closely with GEMMELL. HAZEL C. quit. BOB HENSLEY raced well, but was tiring at the finish. MAY L. was under strong restraint, while going down the backstretcli, but quit when called on in the final drive. HENRY WALBANK. showing sudden improvement, ran a good race today and. in a game final effort, almost got up to win. TAIIOE closed a big ga in the last quarter and finished gamely. GOLD OF OPHIR ran a good three-quarters and was crowded out of contention as the field swung into the stretch. PETER GRIMM set a fast early pace, but failed to stay the route. Overweights Peter Grimm. 2 pounds.
