WILLIS, away well, raced in closest pursuit until on the stretch turn, where be drew into the lead and won as his rider pleased. FLASK was a forward contender from the start and held on well in the linal drive. SCIIALLER had a rough race and linished fast and gamely. CHERRY SEED showed speed and tired in the last eighth. SILICIC closed a big gap in the last quarter. CLEM BEACHEY set the pace briefly and tired badly. CHILTON QUEEN refused to extend herself. The latter was in close quarters while going down the baekstreich, but saved ground in the last quarter, only to tire badlv in the final drive. LORD WELLS showed early speed.
