GENERAL YILLA AT RACES COMMANDER OF MEXICAN CONSTITUTIONALISTS ENJOYS OUTING AT JUAREZ. The fifth running of the Il Paso Selling Stakes at one mile, with a value of ,20o attached, took place at Juarez today before a large crowd of racing enthusiasts. Colonel March-niont was returned the winner in one of the hardest stretch drives of the day. Jockey AV. W. Taylor rode bis mount with marked skill, lie saved much ground by remaining close to the inner rail, and then outrode jockey Gross in tin- final hundred yards of the race. John Beardon went around the leaders on tiie stretch turn and thereby lost some ground, lit; was beaten by a nose. New Haven got the short end of the purse. Bonne Chance and Pay Streak set a fast pace and both were badly beaten ar the finish. Favorites won three of the races. James ButlerV Mini! the Paint scoteil an impressive victory in the race for two-year-olds and it looks as if she may be a tilly of much quality. Zulu was returned winner of the fifth race after having receded in the betting from 0 to 1 to 12 to 1. Lemon Joe was backed into favoritism in this race, but third was the best he could do. Little Marchmoiit. recently acquired out of a selling race for li. O. Lgau. won his first purse for that owner in the closing dash. -Marie C. the stable companion to Mex, reared up in front of the stand while on the way to the post in the opening dash and fell backward. She then ran out through a gap to the stables, but was caught and brought back to the post none the worse for her escapade. Jockey Gross escaped unhurt. General Pancho Villa of the Constitutionalist army, was a guest with his stall", and occupied a box. lie made a winning wager on Minco Jimiuie and was a strong rooter during the running of the race.
