KENTUCKYS PROMISING OUTLOOK. The entries to the Lexington spring stakes plainly show that all the big racing stables intend to compete in this section of the country, despite the prospect of the grand racing which is to be staged in New York. In addition to the high-class stake oflierings put out by the Kentucky tracks, the no-purse-less-than-00 catches the horsemans eye, and many who have no stake horses in their strings will be shooting at those 00 purses. The increased entrv list to the Lexington stakes clearly shows that Kentucky will again be the big spring and summer racing ground. The Hot Springs meeting has fallen through. It is just as well, for it would he far better to watt a year or so and have things in good shape than to give a short meeting, have lots of trouble and maybe wind up in having the racing stopped by troops or state officials. From what can be learned, influential citizens are quietly at work in Arkansas and they may lie able to get some modifications of the anti-betting bill, now in force in that state, within the next year or so.
