GOSSIP FROM BLUE GRASS REGION. Lexington, Ky., February 17. Maj. Thomas J. Carson todav sold his stock farm on Briar Hill pike to John T." Hedges, stock raiser and farmer of Bourbon Countv, for 05 per acre or about 0,000. This is the farm Major Carson bought from James B. Ilaggiu after he sold the famous Dixiana Farm to the latter about three years ago. It is understood to be Major Carsons intention to quit the breeding of thoroughbred horses and lie will in tho near future make some announcement concerning the disposal of the remnant of his Dixiana Stud. Price McKinney. of Cleveland, Ohio, owner of the Wickliffe Stud of thoroughbred horses, now under the management of Miss Elizabeth Daiugerlield, and quartered at Kingston Farm, is in the market for a blue grass farm in the vicinity of Lexington. He offered Beaslev Brothers 50,000 for McGrathiana Farm of 41G acres, but they have refused to sell for loss than 00,000. His representative is now said to be dickering for another place.
