BAXJO JIM began slowly, but worked his way up steadily on the outside and, after saving ground on every turn, finished last and, wearing the leaders down., got up in the final eighth ;o win in the last stride. CASTA R A was a forward contender from the start anil, after being carried wide in the far turn, finished gamely, but could not quite get up. LADY INNOCENCE raced into the lead in the stretch and tired under punishment. HILL STREAM quit after setting the pace to the homestretch, i 1RISURETER was crowded out on the backsiretch and pulled up. then closed a big gap. Scratched 1;!349 lone. 94; 13373 Old Jordan. 112. LAURA, showing sudden improvement, drew away into an easy lead in the first eighth and, making the pace fast, hung on well under punishment and outstayed HELEN M. The latter came through on the inside in the stretch and finished fast and gaining on the winner. CHAS. CANNELL ran wido when entering the homestretch and tired in the final drive, running a poor race. MANSON was never able to get up WATER LAI showed earlv speed. LORD AVELLS was reserved behind the leaders until straightened away in the homestretch, where he responded when called on and, joining NIMBUS in the final eighth, passed him and won going away. NIMBUS showed a good turn of speed in pacemaking for live-eighths, hut tired and just lasted long enough lo outstav AVILL1S. The latter worked his way up on the outside from a slow beginning and finished fast. SKEKTSran a good hall and quit in the last quarter. GAT A FALLEN finished well. MOXOCACY left the harrier with a rush and made a fast pace for the entire way, but was tiring and onlv won because best ridden in the final drive. ROYAL METEOR raced lapped on the outside of the winner "throughout and was gaining and going fastest at the finish. GROSAEXOR ran in close up pursuit to the stretch turn, where lie made a threatening effort, but tired in the last eighth. PRIXCE AHMED ran well. Won driving; second- and third the same. 1- LORAL CROA1X, vastly improved in a day, outraccd the others to the first turn and took an easy lead on the hackstretch, but tired in the stretch drive and barely lasted long enough to win. PEACOCK began slowly, but moved up rapidly while rounding the far turn, then came fast through the last quarter and almost got up in a game finish. GERRARD wore the poorly ridden SCHALLER down in the stretch for third place. SILICIC finished with a belated rush. SCHALLER tired. Scratched 13474 Stairs, 117. TOM HAXCOCK was taken back and saved to the last turn, then came through next to the rail after entering the homestretch and, easily passing COLFAX, won going away. FIEL, a slow beginner, was outrun lor the first half mile, but finished fast and outstayed COLFAX for second place. COLFAX set the pace for three-quarters, but was made too much use of and tired badly in the homestretch. PLAIN ANN raced on the outside of the leaders for the entire way and tired near the end. BARIUM was pulled up after going live-eighths. Scratched 134SC-.Myceuae, 114; 134SC Camei, 112.
