THOMAS CLYDE MAKES MAGNANIMOUS 0VTER. Baltimore. Md . April S. -In order to show the desire of the 1imlico management to cooperate in having propi r racing legislation passed in Maryland, Thomas Clvde, owner of a racing stable and a large stockholder in the Pimlico track, today oOfered to declare a truce with those who are trying to sup press racing. Mr. Clydes offer came in a letter denying allegations made by Rev. I»r. Jolm Rocb Strattou, leader of the tight agaiust racing at th session of the Legislature which closed Tfday The Legislature authorised Coventor Goldsboroucb to apiKiiut a comission to study the question and report its findings to the Legislature of I.tlU. Mr. Clyde today wrote Rev. Dr. Stratton that he was willing to co-operate with the anil-racing people in assisting the governor to rind a uon partisan commission. He offered to bear one-half of the expense in the event that some auli-raciug man would pay the other half. The governor probably will soon appoint his com mission and it is thoii-hl thai an exhaustive search into Maryland racing conditional will tie made during the eexl two years.
