PRINCESS DORRIES ONE THOUSAND GUINEAS. London. May 1. 101 1. — The One Thousand Guineas for three-year old fillies over the Rowley Mile was run at Newmarket today, and was won by J. B. locis brown filly Princess Dorrie. by Your Majesty —Doris. Lord Derbys bay filly Glorvina. by Desmond Veneration II was sei-ond and Sir John Tlutrsbys hay filly Torchlight by John OGaunt — Lesbia finished third. Thirteen starters contested the race. Princess Dorrie i- a half sister to the Kpsom Derby winner Snnstar. She ran in eight races last year without winning, but ran well and was placed in Important races for two-year olds. Glorvina i" a sister to Cragnnonr and by many critics Torchlight was held to be about the pick of the Knglish two vearold tillies of 1013. J. B. Joel also won the One Thousand of last year with his good flllv Je«:t. which later on took the more famous but less vain able Epsom Oaks. it will be of interest to observe whether Princeaa Dorrie will prove able to follow her example.
