AN EMINENT BELGIAN TURFMAN DIES. Sport in Belgium has suffered a great loss through the sadden and unexpected death ot Chevalier de Theulegoet, a member of the Belgian Jockey club. and lorin.ilv Colonel of the Guides. He was. perhaps, one of the most learned among the Belgian members of the turf senate, and rendered great service in revising and compiling the Rules of Racing. He was Justly regarded as the Admiral Rous of Belgium. As a handicapper he showed ex cellent judgment, and his opinion was highly valued iu France. He was in the very midst of a campaign t.. prevent Interference by the state with betting, and his Influence has more than once caused the re jcctioii of measures proposed by the clerical party and -faddists." ||e was ail enthusiast iu breed ing and of a most curteoiis and amiable disposition.
