WILL BUILD IN NEW LOCATION. . Southern Maryland Fair Association Secures Land 1 for New Track Near Washington. Baltimore. Mil., June 10. It is the intention of r the management of the Marlboro track to commence work at once on a mile track. Plans and estimates bare been made and work will he stalled within a few days. The Inaccessibility of the present location anil the difficulty of reaching it from Baltimore . and Washington have influenced the management to look for more convenient grounds in the county. • These have been secured at a point on the Patuxent river alnuit twenty five minutes ride from Baltimore and the same from Washington. The new track will be reached by the W. B. and ; A. electric road, and arrangements have been made for quick and convenient train service. The officials 1 of the road claim they can handle the race crowds just as efficiently and comfortably as the steam i railroads, and the electric road will have the further convenience of frequent trains, so that racegoers may go and come whenever they please. the new track will he built on up to-date lines, • and the whole plant will he strictly modern and up 1 to all the requirements of the Jockey flub. The » capital will be furnished entirely by local people and the racing will he conducted under the manage mem of local talent. "Maryland for Marylandei s" is the slogan of the management. It is expected that the dates formerly assigned by the Jockey Club to Norfolk will be given to the Southern Maryland Association. In this case the j m w track will get about fifteen days iu the spring ! In-fore Havre de Grace and Pimlico and the same ■ number of days in the fall after the close at Pini-lico. These were the same dates formerly given i to Penning — in fact, the new track will step into 1 the shoes of the old Washington course.
