WEIR STABLE WINS HALF THE CARD. Trainer of Old Rosebud Sends Trio of Winners to Post in Miss Fielder, Edith W. and Type. New York. June 17. — F. I . Weir accounted for the lirst half of todays card at Helmont Park, which was comprised ol small lields wilh no pariieii lar feature. Miss Fielder. Edith W. and Type w entile three winners from the Weir Stable. B. Marco piloted the tirst two and P.utwell had the mount on Type. Miss Fielder took the lirst in handy style over Amazon. She assumed the lead midway of the stretch and gamely withstood several challenges. Edith W. led thii.nghout in the second and won uilh something in reserve. In the third Type came In. 111 last place to win going away hy a comfortahle margin over Jester and the lirst choice. Dervish, ihe latter set a fast early pace, but succumbed iu He final furlong. Scratches reduced the number of starters in the Ileeiiinore Handicap, fourth on the program, to three. Flittergold. the favorite, scored easily. Flit- • 1 -old w;is reserved la the early reaming and rated in behind Punch Bowl until the turn for home was made, when Hut veil set him down and. responding well, he easily disposed of Punch Howl in the tn.:-1 eighth. The latter ran a good race and seems to be ronndlng to. Stars and Stripes graduated from the ranks of the maidens in the tilth. Joe Rosen Held, the favorite, set a fast early pace, hut went wide in entering tin-homestretch, where his saddle slipped and he was cased up. Old Gny Fisher easily took down I puree when he scored in the sixth over Ainalli and Any Part. The wiuicr assumed the lead at tin-start and was never seriouslv menaced :it any time. The stables of C C. Bmithson ami S. Must arrived at Aqueduct today from Marihoro. V. I". Oliver was an arrival at Ai|ueduet from Montreal with Kewesea, Abbots lord. Lord Leigh ton ami Gokuaven. 11. F. Carman arrived at Aqueduct yesterday from Kentucky willi his stable of sixteen horses, which includes Meridian, which is being pointed for the urooklya Handicap. J. McTaggart was in the saddle again today, his term of suspension having expired. Gainer, Luke McLuke and San Vega arrived at r.elmont Park yesterday from Montreal. All are eligible tn the Belmont Stakes, to be run Saturday. Edith W. winner of the second race, was hid up from 0O to fl.200 by J. It. Marquette, Jr., but was retained by F. 1». Weir.
