June 20. — The Cincinnati Trophy, which will be ran at Latonia next Saturday, is the two-year-old tryoui for the Kentucky Derby of next seas.. n. The event this season carries an added valuation ,000, exclusive of a handsome silver loving cup. known as the Cincinnati Trophy, which is do nalod to the winner of the race by the Latonia Jockey Club. With its ninety nominations, the subscription fees amount to 81,800, and with the starting fees the event is likely to exceed 85,000 gross value. Willi the exception of the Breeders Futurity at Lexington, it is the richest twoyear-old race in Kentucky. The distance is six furlongs, which is longer than that of any other juvenile event on the Kentucky tracks this summer. Until last season the distance of the race was live and one-half furlongs. The silver loving cup donated by the Latonia Jockey Club to the Cincinnati Trophy this season is a beautiful and valuable one. It was manufactured by the Neuhaus Co.. which has made ibis trophy for several seasons, and it is regarded by them as the most ornate and beautiful specimen of the silversmiths art they have yet turned out. Its has relief, embossments and other embellishments are in gold trimmings. It called for the expenditure of over $.00 by the Latonia Jockey Club. It will be exhibited throughout the coming week in a Fourth Avenue store window, surrounded by a group of pictures of the stars of the two year -old division that are to go to the post for this big race.
