June 27.— Although the Windsor Jockey iuhs first summer meeting docs not start until July 15. many of the stables near racing at Hamilton will be shipped to the track across the river the Utter part of the coining week. Sandbar and Lochicl. Secretary W. . Palme- who has been iu Detroit the past week allotting stable room at Windsor, expects 15 horses to arrive from La- loui.i early in July. The Latonia meeting closes next Saturdav- and then there will be a general hegira of owners from Kentucky to Windsor. The track at Windsor is in its usually excellent condition and will ls as fast or faster than any-other on the Canadian circuit. The officials of the local jockey club pay snecial attention to the sur-fsce of the eonrse across the river and the best of care lias been given it since last fall. Many notable improvements have been made lo lla Windsor racing plant since last year. The change in the betting enclosure will In- mo-t tii e able. That enclosure has been enlarged and will In- adequate to accommodate the thousands vistiag the Hack daily without the attendant jostling and crowding Which prevailed iu past years. The racing crowds iu this section have increased in size to such an extent in the last few years I hat it has kept the Windsor officials bustlim; to keep up with the procession. There is no better sleel stand on the Canadian circuit than the one across the river.
