ENCORE went to the front at once and. setting a fast pace, saved ground on the turns, but was shaken up at the finish to outstay CARDIGAN. The latter was saved to the homestretch, then moved up with a rush and made a game finish. CARRIE ORME raced in close pursuit all the way and outstayed HAFIZ at the end. The latter finished fast. J. CHILTON SQUAW began slowly and lost ground on the stretch turn, but finished with a rush into a game second. JOE KNIGHT was in close quarters in the early running, but finished fast and outstayed FLATRUSH in the final drive. Tlfe latter run well. MONTCALM and MISS PRIMITY quit after showing the most early speed. The winner was entered for 00; no bid. GRAZELLE ran well and held the others safe for third place. CHAS. CANNELL was cut off when running well. BENDEL was coming fast at the end.
