BUILDING UP NEW YORK STAKE VALUES. Saratoga Association Announces Important Increases in Prize Money for Next Season. New York, October 10. With the racing season in New York barely over, the preliminaries for the lacing of 1515 are already well under way. The Saratoga Association will shortly announce four of its old two-venr-old fixtures that are to lie closed for nominations November 10. These stakes are tli Grab Bag Handicap, worth ,500: the United States Hotel Stakes, wortli ,000: the Grand Union Hotel Stakes, of a like value: the Spinaway. for fillies and worth ,000, and the Hopeful, with a value of ,500. During the season just closed the two hotel stakes and the Spinaway carried values of ,000 added each and the Hopeful was of ,000 guaranteed. These earlv closing stakes reflect increased pros-peritv for racing and there will be increased values all along the line in the other prizes that will lie offered at Saratoga next season. It is probable that the Westchester Racing Association will be the next to announce early closing stakes. It Is proposed that three two-year-olds fixtures and three of the old three-year-old races be closed simultaneously with those of the Saratoga Association on November 10. These are the Juvenile Keene Memorial and the Fashion for Miles, in the two-vear-old list, and the Belmont. Withers and Ladles for the fillies in the three-year-old division. The values of these stakes have not been decided upon, but will be within a few days.
