CALIFORNIA YEARLINGS COMING EAST. San Francisco, Cal., November 2. Next Saturday Lawrence and Comstock will ship to Charleston, S. C, from their Oakwood Stock Itauch at Lincoln. Cal.. eighteen promising yearlings. Like all California-bred yearlings, they are forward and will soon lie ready to race. Five or six are worthy or special mention, including the chestnut colt by Salvation LI Sonora, a half brother to Cash on Delivery. This is a strapping fellow that is credited with an eighth last Saturday in 11. and a quarter iu 24. The bay colt by Salvation Mi Reina is als: reported to have worked an eighth iu 11, and the bay filly by Joe Carey Bonnie Lissak has an eighth in 11 and a quarter in 24 to her credit. Messrs. Lawrence and Comstock arc undecided whether they will race the youngsters or dispose of them. To show their faith in the thoroughbred industry in California, they have recently purchased forty-live mares from Barney Schreiber and thirty-live are in foal.
