INTEREST WELL SUSTAINED SCENE OF RACING IN MARYLAND SHIFTS TO HAVRE DE GRACE. - J li in Big Crowd in Attendance for Opening of Harford r Agriculture and Breeders Association Fall Meeting Pomctte Blue Wins Stake. l. c j Havre do Grace. Mil., November 10. The liar- - ford Agriculture and Breeders Association began a iif teeu-day meeting at its pretty course here this , afternoon, and the big attendance demonstrated that notwithstanding the extended stretch of racing in Maryland there has been no diminution of interest. Many turfmen whose faces are familiar nlxitit the New York tracks were in attendance, including some who did not patronize either the Laurel or Iimlieo meetings because they prefer the books to the mutuels. The feature of the afternoons program was the Mount Hnval Handicap. Housemaid, quick to begin, dashed into an early lead, with Robert Bradley giving chase, and Slumber II. in third position. They ran in this order to the turn, where Tranid and Pouictte Bleu passed Slumber II. and Hobert Bradley began to tire. Housemaid weut on gamely and disiMJsed of Robert Bradley, but she was unable to withstand the challenge of 1omette Bleu, and the latter won by a head. Slumber II. came again at the end and just got up to boat Tranid for third money. The steeplechase race for maidens found the Randolph entry, Fbxcraft, ruling favorite, and he won. The race was hardly a glittering success as a crosscountry contest. To begin with, the field broke to a false start and several of the contestants ran half a mile. Foxcraft was pulled up after going three furlongs, but Brush went on for nearly half a mile. Judge AAalser fell at the first fence in the fals.e break and knocked Dupee out for several minutes. The field was finally dispatched without Judge Wulser. Foxcraft led all the way. but he was a tired horse at the finish, although not nearly so tired as Brush and Frog, which finished second and third. The stables of F. S. Hackett and Matt Brady 1 were shipped from Iimlieo this morning to Juarez. Among the numerous arrivals today were Grover 1 and Hundley Baker and Charles Hughes, from La-ton ia.
