CANADIAN HORSES WELL ADVANCED ADVANCEDToronto Toronto Out April 24 The preparation of the horses for this seasons racing Is more advanced than usual at this date and n mile eased up in better than 150 shows that they are more for ¬ ward in condition than is comnmnly the Case a month ahead of Plate Day This was done when Mr Millars Fair Montague and Tartarean were sent six furlongs by trainer Nixon in 1 the mile being finished out in the time mentioned The first half was done in 4 Fair Montague was in front at the finish though the pair broke away together Another Plater from the same stable Garish Sun went a mile in 151 in company with Shrovetide Trainer John Walkers charge Hampton Dame was timed a mile handily in 150 the first six furlongs in 121 Halves around 50 seconds were sh wn by Liberty Hall Maid of Frome and Pepper Sauce The twoyear old Thorncliffe in Mr Davies lot shows speed enough to justify his name which was meant to lie carrieil by a horse that would do it credit The creditThe horses from Mr Giddlngs Cedar Grove Farm at Oakville will come to Woodbine on Monday His Plate reliance this year will be the grand looking Harry BaSct II If the twoyearolds had not run last year the appearance of this colt and the glamour of Mr Giddings success with St Bass Hearts of Oak and Beehive would have made his champion of this year almost an oddson choice for the Guineas As it is lie is considered to have a chance that is equalled or surpassed by half a dozen other owners A brother to Beehive a colt by Hassetlaw My Honey Is one of the foals reported from Oakville this season
