REDFERN SOLD TO GO TO AUSTRALIA AUSTRALIAThe The sale paddocks at Newmarket England April 2S were Weil attended when several important consignments came under the bammer including Redferu one of the best twoyearolds last year owned by the late Lord Cadogan The colt won the National Breeders Produce Stakes at Saiidown the Molccomb Stakes Goodwood and Champagne Stakes at I Iiicast r in successive races He was purchased by the Newmarket trainer George Black well HI behalf of Sir William Cooper who is in Australia and the colt is to be shipped there The price paid for him was 5300 guineas 275150 This was no doubt considered satisfactory though he Would probably have reached nearly three times that figuro with his engagement last year A newcomer to the turf Mr Bockwith Smith pur ¬ chased the twoyearold Forum for 720 guineas and tJio colt goos into John Dawsons stable Mr Berkwlth Smith nlsn bid to 1000 gnlnras for another twoyearold n son of Spearmint Skyscra ¬ per but this young horse changed hands to Mr Ic Mifltro for 2100 guineas The Duke of Portland also sold some horses the best price being lG7iO guineas paid by Mr Gilbert Robinson for Orange ¬ man a fouryearold son of William the Third Fair Nell
