PRAISE FOR DOUGLAS PARK RACING Louisville Ky May 21 Everything is ready at Douglas Park never more beautiful in its spring dressing for the meeting which begins tomorrow with a splendid card of seven races featured by tin Speculation Stakes which is sure to be pro diiftive of a stirring contest over its mile and a sixteenth route The meeting at Douglas Park runs for thirteen racing days winding up on Saturday June 5 and during this period of local sport start ¬ ers in the various races to bo decided will consist largely of a representation of all the leading stables of the country As described by Manager John Hachnieister Douglas Park as a spring race track is but an infant as yet The present is its third spring meeting but it has proved a lively infant At nowhere in all America this year will more brilliant racing be seen than will mark the meeting now to begin at Douglas Park The assemblage of visiting turfmen who have come to Louisville tills season are all here to remain for the Douglas Park meeting meetingAll All the crack riders who have been taking mounts in Kentucky this spring are here to remain for the Douglas Park meeting and there Is nothing lacking to make the thirteen rays as brilliant this year as was ever run on any Kentucky track trackManager Manager Hachnieister lias arranged to handle the big crowd which is sure to go to Douglas Park this spring in every way that will contribute to their comfort and convenience Street cars on race days after the noon hour will run clear through to Doug ¬ las Park less than a minute apart and tlie roadway after leaving the boulevard and into the ground has been oiled so as to put it in perfect condition for automobiles and other vehicles The boulevard lead ¬ ing out to Douglas Park by the way of Third street i conceded to bo one of the tinest roadways in all the land landThe The otlicials that will serve during the coming meeting are of course the same as were in charge of the meeting just closed at the Downs During the meeting the lirst race each afternoon will be called promptly at 230 p in which is sufficiently early considering tlie lengthening out of the days for the seven races to be run and concluded by U p m each day dayAll All the stables at Douglas Park arc now lllled with horses mid none of the strings at present here will ship away from Louisville until the meeting lias come to a close In fact the bulk of the horses now at the two tracks here will go to La tonia at the close of the meeting at Douglas Park for the twentyfour days of racing at that course which begins the Tuesday following the closing Saturday at this track
