OLD BROOM, close up from the start, wore the leader down in the homestretch and easily passed him in the last sixteenth. DELANCEY showed the most early speed and set a fast pace, but tired in the last eighth. CELTABEL finished fast and outgamed WIZARD for third place. The latter raced well to the stretch and tired. MARCH COTRT e.tsilv passed MESHACH in the last sixteenth. The latter fenced well, but tired. SEQCENCE lost her rjder after taking the twelfth fence, OTTO FLOTO at the eleventh. SAND MARK, off slowly, was forced to come around the others to get up. but closed a big gap and, finishing gamely, got up to win in the last stride. TRIBOLO was a forward contender all the way. but tired right at the end after racing into the lead. DR. GREMER came wide when entering the homestretch, but finished with a rush. NOLLI and CASCO closed big gaps. MARY BLACKWOOD and WELGA quit after alternating in early pacemaking. The winner was entered for 00: no bid. Scratched— 23831 Moonstone, 102. TIE PIN gained steadily and closed up with a rush at the end. TIIE MASQUERADES tired and quit after setting a fast pace for the first half. VIDET finished fast. ANXIETY ran well to the stretch.
