November 12. — The annual general meeting of the shareholders of the Ontario Jokey Club was held at the companys office. Imperial Bank Building. Wednesday. Sir Lyman Melvin .bines, in the absence of Mr. Seagram, occupied the chair. The chairman stated that the past year, under prevailing conditions, must be considered satisfae- tory. The high standard of racing had boon niain- tained: 05,000 had been given in purses, of which sum a goodly proportion found its way to breeders of thoroughbred horses in the province of Ontario. He also stated that he was pleased to learn that under the present rules of racing, from every winner of a race for Canadian-bred horses five act cent, of the lirst money was retained for the breeder of the winner. This" must have its good effect upon the breeding of horses in Canada and this province. The following were elected officers for 1015-10: President. Joseph E. Seagram: first vice-president. Sir Lyman Melvin Jones: second vice-president, D. W. Alexander. Committee — Lieutenant -Colonel Sir -Mm S. Ilendrie. A. E. Dynient. K. J. Christie. Lieutenant-Colonel William Hendrie aud George W. Bcardmoro.
