OUTSIDERS WIN AT BOWIE MOST OF THE RACES CAPTURED BY HORSES OVERLOOKED BY THE SPECULATORS. The winner of this raee turneil up in Favour, which led all the way and won easily from Candle. The two choices. Daddys Choice and Sprint, were never prominent in the running. Ilaudilo won the opener. Tiiere was a well-circulated tip about this youngster ami he never left the on Iconic in doubt, taking the lead at the start ami never heing headed. Jim Basey. after a great many disappointments, finally landed a race and Casaba won her race in handy fashion after leading most of the way. V. J. Fitzgerald, who will act as presiding steward at Havana, was a visitor here this afternoon. He will remain over until tomorrow night before returning to his home in Brooklyn. Another special train will leave Washington tomorrow for Cuba. It will lie made up of six cars and will include about loo horses in the shipment. At the conclusion of this meeting tile fourth Havana s|tocial will leave. The shipment of horses to Cuba is being looked after by James Milton and Harry-White. Many of the race-goers who are going lrom here to Cuba have decided to make the trip by Imat from New York ami lrom the number of reservations made, it seems there will lie a big increase in racegoers from the Luited States as compared with last year. It develops that jockey- K. McDormotts recent suspension was made by starter Dade and not by the stewards, as was given out. Tommy McTaggart has decided to riile during the New Orleans meeting. He has not attacked himself totally stable, but proposes to do enough riding to keep himself in condition through the cold months.
